Died. Dr. Leopold Auer, 85, famed violinist, teacher, transcriber of violin music; of pneumonia, at a sanitarium in Dresden, Saxony. Born at Veszprim, Hungary, he studied at Budapest, Vienna. Hanover. He married a Russian, Nadine Pelikan, was named professor at the Imperial Conservatory in Petrograd. His pupils persuaded him to go to New York in 1918, where he divorced his first wife, married a Mme Bogutska-Stein.
