Several weeks ago, I took a look at Nikon's CoolPix P2 Wi-Fi camera. My conclusion was that the camera's bonus Wi-Fi capabilities didn't do a lot to augment its appeal. Kodak's approach was to make a connected Wi-Fi device that does a lot of things- taking pictures is just one of them. By presenting this not as a camera but as a whole new way of managing and sharing pictures, Kodak succeeds where Nikon failed...
Japan also traditionally used unarmed private guards. In May 2002 the National Police Agency sent armed members of its Gun Measures Corps to augment security around the clock at the 16 plants that house Japan's 53 reactors. In Ms. Congeniality, tough cop Gracie Hart begrudgingly turns into a beautiful woman (this is, like, so hard for Bullock) while fighting crime at a beauty pageant; in Armed and Fabulous, the glam has gone to Hart’s head and she must shed her egotism and the Gucci before she can save her best friend Cheryl, the pageant queen from the first (Heather Burns...
...Nothing galvanizes politicians like a new military threat, however. The antisecession law appears to have muted objections to the U.S. arms deal. Taiwan should eventually be able to augment its tiny submarine fleet, and add more Patriot antimissile batteries and antisub aircraft. The hardware won't be enough to win an arms race, but it sends a signal that Taiwan is prepared to stand up for itself...
