Professor Austin Stickney, whose death has just occurred at Paris, graduated from college with the class of 1852, among his classmates being Judge William G. Choate, Joseph H. Choate, Professor Cheever and Professor J. B. Thayer. Prevented by ill health from studying law as he intended, Mr. Stickney became professor of Latin in 1858 at Trinity College, Hartford.
