What other than the death of young lovers constitutes the theme of such literary works as Romeo and Juliet, Dumas' La Dame aux Camèlias, Maxwell Anderson's Winterset, and practically all of the most popular operas, notably Tristan und Isolde...
...responded by dispatching a couple of Mirage VIs to drop 60-kiloton bombs on a red town of equivalent size. Meanwhile, back at the battlefield, the blues sprayed 15 tactical nuclear weapons on the reds in an area ten miles long and ten miles wide. More puffs of smoke aux champignons. ...species of mushrooms that grow in France, 39 are poisonous. This slight but real possibility of toxic consequence has little effect on the millions of Frenchmen who cannot resist aller aux champignons-tramping into the woods for mushrooms when the delicacies sprout, with particular abundance, during the first turning of the leaves. The ceremony was part of a movement started by Father Theobald Rieth, a German Jesuit...

Like the story the film has style, the grand fantastic style in which, as in a jungle, excess exceeds excess and every thing is reconciled in riot. Setting, lighting, cutting, acting: all are overdone...
