...Stravinsky Octet is scored for flute, clarinet, bassoons, trumpets and trombone. In its exploration of the sonorous possibilities of an unusual chamber group, its purpose is similar to that of Bach Brandenburg Concerti and of various Mozart Serendates and Divertimenti.
