Today at half past twelve the two University trial eights will row a race over the two mile course in the Back Bay. The men have been under Mr. Lehmann's coaching since his arrival, the thirteenth of last month, and have been in strict training for over two weeks. The make-up of the crews for the race today was decided upon about ten days ago and as no changes have been made since that time the eights should be fairly well together. The race will be rowed down stream from the Longwood bridge to the Union Boat Club...

...understood by the University at large, Dr. Sargent has succeeded in getting two teams, one from Brown University and one from the Providence Athletic Club, to play an exhibition game at the Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. If the weather is pleasant the game will be played on the asphalt court back of the Gymnasium; otherwise it will be played in the Gymnasium proper. In this case, the running gallery will be reserved for spectators. Dr. Sargent is anxious that as many men as possible should see the game and understand how it is played...

...water, especially in the last mile, was quite rough and worked into both boats, but in spite of this each crew made faster time than on the previous trials. The course was rowed down stream from the Longwood bridge to the Union Boat Club, when the boats were towed back to the boat house. The times were not given out but it is known that Captain Goodrich's crew again made the faster time, owing largely to more favorable conditions...

Both trial eights rowed over the Back Bay course on time Saturday afternoon. A drizzling rain fell and the conditions were not favorable to fast time, but in spite of this each crew made a creditable performance...
