...Crimson eleven played under wraps throughout, wary of showing anything to Fielding H. Yost, former Michigan mentor, who was in the stands scouting for the Wolverines. Only once did Harvard show anything new, when on the march for the initial touchdown, the backfield lined up in a semi-kick formation. The touchdown made, the old formation with a back in motion was resumed again...

...work of the reorganized backfield although still crude, was better than any done by a Crimson ballcarrying quartet this year. Wood established himself as an able and alert quarterback. He played a heady and cool game throughout and although not carrying the ball once he was responsible for the last touchdown when he threw another last-minute aerial to Harding, duplicating his feat of the Army game. Harper was back to his old form again when, in the opening quarter, he made two successive first downs single handed...

Harper's defensive work back...

...matter how strong this backfield may appear on paper, little may be expected from it if the line does not show to better advantage than it did against the Army and Dartmouth. The line makes the backfield, as the Green forwards proved so conclusively last Saturday. Kuehn has won the race for the right tackle berth and the 190-pound Sophomore will be starting his first game for the Crimson...

Judging from the backfield which ran through signals yesterday, spectators in the Stadium will see a reorganized quartet in action. A combination which sprang into prominence on Tuesday was once again working together and it seems to be a pretty safe bet that it will start tomorrow. Wood was at quarter, while Putnam, erstwhile signal caller, was at left half. Devens and Harper completed this backfield. There is a good possibility that Mays, light but speedy Sophomore, will start, in which case he will replace Wood and Putnam will return to his regular berth...
