Shapiro has brought on as advisers the premium-brand attorneys Alan Dershowitz and F. Lee Bailey. But because Simpson spoke with detectives for more than three hours on June 13, shortly after the victims were discovered, he may find it difficult to change his story. Prosecutors can argue that any departure from the version of events he gave in his police interview -- when he presumably repeated his insistence that he was not involved in the killings at all -- shows that, in general, he can't be believed.
