Despite that firepower, Libya is far from unprotected. Its air force includes some 480 Soviet and aging French-built aircraft. More ominously, a Kresta-class Soviet cruiser is anchored in Libyan waters. Seven other Soviet warships are nearby in the Mediterranean. ...Webb is tricked into assuming his Bourne identity once again. His assignment this time: to track down an impostor threatening to plunge the Far East into war. The bait being dangled is Webb's equally scholarly wife Marie, who has been abducted by American agents and flown to Hong Kong, where much of the action takes place. It is all for the good of the country, though most of the way Webb and Marie find that hard to believe. So may readers. But credibility is hardly the point.
