Nixon was in New York, watching and waiting. In last week's Nebraska primary, where Goldwater's name was the only one on the ballot, Nixon polled a tidy 31.4% write-in vote. Nixon boosters got a psychological lift out of that, but Goldwater drew 49.5% of the vote and five of the six state delegates elected.
