Then the fair's reigning Pork Queen, Rita Cook, escorted the senators off to see Big Red, the fair's biggest boar. And while many jokes were made about pork barrel spending, Thompson was quick to stress that one of the central tenets of his campaign is a conservative push to cut spending - particularly from entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid which he called "gradually bankrupting future generations in this country." In his soapbox speech, he accused other G.O.P. candidates of ignoring the budget, "other than giving lip service to it," he said...

...room flung open once more. Wallace looked up to see a man in the same desert-camouflage fatigues normally worn by Iraqi army soldiers; he was standing 2 ft. from him and taking aim with an AK-47. Wallace and Bennett threw their shoulders back into the door. The barrel caught in the crack a second time, and more bullets crashed around the side of the room. He uses catchphrases like "pop, pop, pop" to describe the buttery-popcorn taste of some wines; overly sweet Shirazes are "RWC" (red-wine cocktails). He makes a rumbling sound effect when wines "bring the thunder." But some stunts are uniquely his own. He throws corks at the camera, spills wine as he shoves the glass at the camera to show the color and yells at "lurkers" who don't post comments on his site...

...despite the decades of sarcasm by earlier critics, has the basic evidence that Oswald killed Kennedy been shaken. Fragments of the bullets that hit Kennedy were matched with the rifle found on the sixth floor of the Depository. Oswald's fingerprints were on the rifle barrel. Fibers from the clothes he wore when arrested were caught on the rifle butt. That morning he had brought a long, thin package to work from the house in Irving where he spent weekends with Marina. He explained to the co-worker who gave him a ride that it contained curtain rods...
