Georgia representative Bob Barr's rationalization of his appearance before the Council of Conservative Citizens [LETTERS, March 1] was a joke. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone, Democrat or Republican, who believes that neither Barr nor his staff inquired about the aims of the council, which is described as a "white-supremacist group," prior to his arranging to speak before it. ...huge thank-you to White for his excellent article on White House deputy counsel Cheryl Mills' holding a mirror to the G.O.P. record on civil rights in her defense of Clinton.
