There were three matches played yesterday in the singles and two in the doubles in the tennis tournament. The day was an excellent one for tennis and there was a good attendance but none of the games were close. In the singles Tallant beat Barron (with fifteen) 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Torrey beat Earle (with half fifteen) 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Lockett (with fifteen) beat Tallant 6-3, 6-3. In the doubles Tallant and Wildes beat Page Bros. (with half thirty) 6-3, 6-3. Nearly all of the matches yesterday were close, even with the handicaps. In the match between Orcutt and Hurd and Lockett and Hunt, the handicap was too large, but nevertheless the scores were quite large. In the singles Tallant and Barron both won a set and stopped on account of the rain. The match between Earle and Rhoades was very close. Rhoades had one set and five games to two in the second, and Earle made a terrific brace, winning the second and third sets...
