Harvard made her first run in the second. After Clarkson had gone out on a grounder, Haughton got his base on balls. Rand advanced him with a single to left and Lauder's error on Stevenson's grounder filled the bases. Paine then hit to centre field but Sedgwick muffed, allowing Haughton to score. Stevenson, however, was caught at second and shortly afterwards Rand was cut off at the plate in trying to score when the ball was thrown to second on Paine's attempt to steal...
