...crews rowed over the course in the basin on time yesterday. J, H. Perkins's crew rowed at 11 and Captain Goodrich's crew at 1 o'clock. The water, especially in the last mile, was quite rough and worked into both boats, but in spite of this each crew made faster time than on the previous trials. The course was rowed down stream from the Longwood bridge to the Union Boat Club, when the boats were towed back to the boat house. The times were not given out but it is known that Captain Goodrich's crew again made...

...students to go down to the boat house every day, during the last week of the crew's stay in Cambridge, and there line up along the water front, and cheer them. The crew would then row up and down the river several times, before going down into the basin, and show the men how they had improved in speed and form. In this way a great deal of enthusiasm was aroused, and that feeling of estrangement, which now exists between the crew and the rest of the College, was entirely lacking.
