This week's NCAA football statistics have been released, and on the basis of his single performance against Holy Cross last Saturday, JIM KUBACKI leads the nation in total offense with an average of 258 yards per game. BOB BATEMAN of Brown is third after a 248-yard afternoon against URI, and Penn's JACK WIXTED is fifth. Bob Bateman is the name of this supposedly terrific player, fresh from a record-setting performance two years ago in Vermont--just before the school dropped its football program. There's been a lot of concern the last couple of days about the "pounding" that the Harvard defense took from Brown in Saturday's scrimmage, particularly the pass defense.
