Yesterday afternoon the Freshman team defeated Worcester Academy in a rather close game, by the score of six to four. The Freshman played a better game in the field than Worcester Academy, but they were very weak at the bat, the made only three hits, while the academy nine made six early in the game. While trying for second base, Litchfield sprained his ankle, and had to stop playing; he will probably be laid up for some time. Pote took Scannell's place behind the bat and easily carried off the honors of the afternoon by his fine work. For Harvard, Haughton's grounder was fumbled by Johnson, but he was forced on Paine's hit to Gregory. Paine was also forced by T. Stevenson, but Pote's single and some lucky base-running brought in a run. In the fifth inning Dean reached third on his single a stolen base and a wild throw. Burgess and Rand then struck out and R. Stevenson...

Paine was ineffective and was succeeded by Haughton who pitched fairly well. Scannell caught a beautiful game. Dean and Burgess were strongest at the bat...
