In the seventh Whittemore drove in the tying run only to have Cornell come back in their half with another. This was the result of a hit batter, two singles and an error by Ayres on the relay to the plate. Smith pitched the whole game for the Big Red and gave up only two hits, singles, to Captain Keyes and Lou Clay...
