Ants in the Plants. That the Post gets out at all is a minor miracle. Beneath a giant Moreton Bay fig tree in Port Moresby (pop. 7,000), the Post's termite-honeycombed headquarters has been flooded eight times during monsoons. Twice the composing room has been invaded by serpents-a ten-foot python, a rare and venomous taipan-which were pelted to death by ingots of type metal. Only a Dream. Distribution alone is a monumental problem. In the Eastern dialect, Inuktitut's circulation is limited to some 2,000 families, so widely strewn that the magazine must eventually be carried, over months, by Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Hudson's Bay traders, and dog sled; to reach Eskimos in Canada's Western north, Inuktitut will print a separate edition in the Roman characters familiar to that region. The magazine must go out in spring before the Arctic thaw, in summer after the river ice has melted, in fall before the freeze, and in winter before...

...ship, repainted the name Olympus on lifeboats, life rings, prow and stern. Promptly the Greek Line, which has a ship called Olympia, threatened suit. More paint. This week, if all goes according to schedule the Ile de France, her three forward compartments flooded with 7,000 tons of Osaka Bay, will aim her four great screws and the new name Claridon into the wide, wide lenses...
