Granted that Boston is not a hotbed of hoop (you can ask the Celtics about that), but even by Beantown's standards the crowds are thin. Many felt that the addition of, Thomas "Satch" Sanders, former Celts star of many years, as head basketball coach would boost attendance. It did initially, but after the excitement wore off and people realized that Satch was no miracle worker and that the team was still losing as many as they were winning, the crowds dropped again to pitiful levels...

Four Crimson players were honored yesterday for their roles in bringing the Greater Boston League (GBL) baseball championship back to Harvard for the fourth straight season. Beantown's coaches named 15 to the all-star squad, including four from Boston College, which finished second in the league with a 5-3-1 slate...

...Crimson overruled the Judges of Brandeis in a 7-2 decision on Soldiers Field to become the first team in the history of the league to possess the mythical Bike Cup (awarded for excellence among Beantown's collegiate baseballers) four seasons in a row. The win gave Harvard a 6-1-0 GBL slate, while Brandeis finished with two losses in the circuit. The rest of the competition was hopelessly out of it a week...
