DIED. RICHARD MCDONALD, 89, vending visionary who, with his brother Maurice, started a hamburger chain that became international fast-food behemoth McDonald's Corp; in Manchester, N.H. In 1948 the brothers created the first self-service drive-through, offering speedy service and low prices.
