...Armour, another sophomore, covers the other end of the line. Both men play the boards and follow up aggressively, but leave most of the shooting to the centres. Rice and Thacher, the University wings, though perhaps not quite as fast as Gould and Armour, handle their sticks a little better. Thacher has been coached to pass out to the centres a great deal, and follows the puck up to the goal pretty closely, often scoring on rebounds in practice. Rice has developed rapidly for the other wing, and is an accurate shot from the boards...

...admit only students who have been "honor men" in college. The Philadelphia Press explains that the proposal is to train a class of "super-scholars." The aptness of this term may be questioned, as well as the value of the new requirement. Most of those who go to the better graduate schools now are men who have been distinctly above the average in scholarly rank as undergraduates; it is a genuine intellectual interest which has led to their desire to do further scholarly work. Fast hockey featured the game which followed. Both teams were going at top speed, although better passing might have been desired on the part of the University forwards. The first score came when Doty snapped the puck by Abbott who was defending the Harvard Club goal. ...between Pierce and Langdell. Objections to this, however, are the expense and the fact that on a hot day the temperature under canvas would be scarcely bearable. Besides, unless the tent were enormous, the remedy to the present situation would be only one of degree. The Stadium offers a better solution. Its acoustic properties are not ideal, but speakers do succeed in making themselves heard in it; and all who desired could be accommodated. In case of rain, of course, it would probably be necessary to resort to Sanders Theatre again; but this would be of infrequent occurrence. A radical...

...University seven had a drill in passing and shooting at the Arena yesterday afternoon, and the work in both of these departments went better than in the early week practices. Baker has shown considerable ability, with his stick, and is first choice for the position at left centre, left vacant by Curtis. Baldwin is also a strong contender for the position, but Baker's superior stick-work has given him the first string honors. Rice has been playing good hockey of late, and will start in the left wing position. With Captain Morgan back in the defense, the University seven...
