Hockey at Cambridge received an enthusiastic start last night when more than 120 candidates for the University and 1924 sevens gathered at the Union. Short talks by Captain E. L. Bigelow '21 and Manager Philip Hofer '21, outlining the work of the season, and a brief blackboard discussion by Coach William H. Claflin '15, were features of the meeting. Active practice will begin on the Charles-bank Rinks as soon as weather permits the University squad being scheduled to open daily workouts in the New Boston Arena after Christmas vacation...

Numbered among the letter-men to report last night were eight forwards, including Captain E. L. Bigelow '21, C. W. Baker '21, R. W. Buntin '21, F. McN Bacon '21, John Gaston '21, H. B. W. Snelling '21, former Captain R. W. Emmons ocC., and Donald Angier '22. Buntin, who gained his "H" two years ago, R. S. Humphrey '21 and J. A. Candidates for the University and Freshman hockey teams will assemble in the Union tomorrow evening at 7 o'clock, when the winter season will open officially. The work for the coming weeks will be outlined by Coach William H. Claflin '15 and Captain E. L. Bigelow '21. Practice before vacation will probably be confined to stick work, shooting and passing, indoors. The new Boston Arena may not be ready for use until January...

Hockey for both University and Freshman candidates is due to begin next Tuesday, evening, December 7, with a meeting in the Union at 7 o'clock, when Coach William H. Claflin '15 and Captain E. L. Bigelow '21 will outline plans for the season. Although no game are scheduled for the seven until after Christmas vacation, regular daily practice for the University squad will open in the New Boston Arena this month.
