Phil Silvers became the first triple-winner last week in the annual Television Academy of Arts and Sciences awards. Funnyman Phil, whose portrayal of larcenous Sergeant Bilko in the filmed Army series has boosted his show into a top rating, won his three Emmys for Best Comedian, Best Actor in a Continuing Performance, and the Best Comedy Series.
