...Massachusetts in 1899. On January 4, 1900, the court gave its decision against the city. All the money paid out by the University, amounting to $3190.40, was at once refunded by the city, and a committee was appointed to consider further action on the matter. This committee brought a bill before the State Legislature so framed as to provide for payment of taxes on college property by the state.
