...commend the efforts of both the national anti-handgun coalition and its new Harvard chapter, and we urge students to write their congressmen in support of pending legislation known as the Bingham-Fauntroy Handgun Control Bill, H.R. 40, which would ban the manufacture, sale, and ownership of handguns except for police, military, security guards, and licensed gun clubs...
Allard's production has compensated for shortstop Brad Bauer's semi-slump. Bauer's average still nests around .350 but his run production has tailed off since coming north. With the graduation of sluggers Mark Bingham and, Charlie Santos-Buch, the pressure of knocking in runs has been unfairly placed on the sophomore shortstop. Not that he can't handle it, but he just shouldn't have to go it alone. Allard's rejuvenation and the hitting of first baseman Vinnie Martelli have helped...
Hinckley purchased the ammunition that was used at another pawn shop, this one in Lubbock, Texas. The type of bullet he chose was interesting-and frightening. The cartridges were Devastators, made by Bingham Ltd. of Norcross, Ga. These projectiles, akin to dumdum bullets, contain a small aluminum canister filled with an explosive compound. Because of manufacturing difficulties, the company stopped producing the Devastator last...
...first base, including those belonging to Vinnie Martelli, Chuck Marshall and Donny Allard. Marshall and Allard suffered from horrendous starts at the plate last season and couldn't recover, both finishing below 150. But Marshall is a proven hitter, and a return to form by him will help replace Bingham's potent (.298 and a team-leading 27 rbi's) bat. Allard, who played a fine left-field last year, should develop into a classy first baseman...
