Ordinarily, the Statute of Limitations prevents prosecution for a crime six years after it is perpetrated, but the hitch is that the Statute doesn't "run" for time spent outside the state. His Majesty, now in retirement in British Columbia, might yet end his days sticking wads of Blackjack under a cot in Charlestown State Prison...

They called in the Ontario provincial police to help halt the daily mix-up between strikers and nonstrikers. The provincials seized a blackjack from one worker. Two policemen were stabbed with women's hatpins. Children on the sidelines threw stone-filled snowballs...

Whiplash (Warner). The hero of this gory battle royal (Dane Clark) gets tagged on the jaw, slugged with a blackjack, kicked in the head and punched orie-eyed in a boxing bout. Since most of this mauling is done by thugs who work for the husband of his beautiful, frozen-faced girl (Alexis Smith), poor dear Dane suffers without a whimper. Toward the end, there is some talk of sending him off to a hospital to have his head examined-an idea which might have saved a lot of trouble earlier in the story...
