Thankfully, though, director Eric Engel (Director of Memorial Hall/Sanders Theatre) still manages to blend Lucas' words into an (almost) seamless narrative journey to the dark side of greed, jealousy and betrayal. ...product called the "Realdoll" is a surprisingly realistic rendition of the female form. Dubbed a blend of fantasy and reality, realdoll.com boasts that its doll bears "elastic flesh, an articulated skeleton and sexy features like no other love doll in the world." This doll is no flotation device. A concoction of silicon and steal, the real doll is made precisely to the specifications of its creator. ...Unfortunately, there's only so many similar-sounding alternative/grunge songs one can take, and the album's 11 tracks begin to blend into one another. It doesn't help that the sound kept fading in and out on the review copy. Still, the band's obvious musicianship means it deserves more than the missing "E" in its name for a grade. B --Daryl...
