...When listening to Midnite Vultures for the first time, it's easy to be overwhelmed by its crackling originality. The album's main fault is that such a hectic blend of music eventually sounds a little thin and is more exciting as an artistic maneuver on Beck's part than as a long-term fixture in a CD-changer. It's the most straightforward (and final) track, in fact, that will probably become Midnite Vulture's best-remembered track. "Debra" is a funk-love send-up; its proto-cheesy sound is so robust that all irony melts away...

But she seems awfully young next to Depp. Their romance is a curious blend of mild flirtation and terrible one-liners that leave the audience wondering whether to laugh or cringe; with lines like "You're white magic," you never know if Burton's being serious...
...Quasi is not for the faint of heart or soul. They deliver their special blend of mayhem with an unmatched fury and cynical edge but at times it's hard not to get dragged down in all the gloominess. Closing with their unofficial theme song, "You F**ked Yourself," Quasi leave the stage dragging the broken carcass of pop music behind them...
...ways to infiltrate American lives. The soundtrack to Mike Judge's Texas-based animated series includes artists such as the Barenaked Ladies, Travis Tritt with George Thorogood, Brooks and Dunn and Faith Hill. While I'm admittedly not a big fan of the show, the album has a nice blend of country and rock that gives the album both a kick and a relaxing groove at the same time. Despite the combination of artists, the music in the album still manages to flows nicely from one track to the next...
