Died. Dan Blocker, 43, Hoss Cartwright on TV's Bonanza series for 14 years; of a blood clot in the lung following surgery; in Inglewood, Calif. A former high school teacher, Blocker spent two knockabout years in Hollywood before getting a regular job as the Cartwright family's oversized middle son.
