Union City, made for $500,000 by Mark Reichert, 32, has been called the first punk-rock film noir. At first glance, the phrase fits. Deborah Harry, making her dramatic-film debut, is the blond of Blondie; Chris Stein, who composed the sepulchrally melodious score, is Blondie's lead guitarist; Pat Benatar, in a featured role, has an album of her own. And Union City is faithful to the tones and undertones of film noir, that postwar style of moviemaking that transposed Raymond Chandler's mean-streets prose and James M. Cain's haunted losers to celluloid...
Honkers & Screamers (vol. 6) is perhaps the most definitive Rock & Roll album in the series. This instrumental LP of very early (mostly around 1948) sax-led rock features Paul Williams (not the short blond mutant), Hal Singer, Big Jay McNeely (the main argument for this set) and other important sax screamers. McNeely's ferocious sax attacks coupled with some of Rock & Roll's earliest arrangements are powerful statements indeed. ...least he had not mastered it by the afternoon of Sept. 24. In a fit of candor, he faced 600 employees of the Bendix Corp., of which he is chairman, and tried to put to rest once and for all the rumors that his admittedly "close friendship" with attractive, blond Mary Cunningham, 29, had anything to do with her rise from executive assistant to vice president for planning in the stunningly short span of 15 months. In the process, of course, he resuscitated some remarkably anachronistic ideas about women in business. Having thus cleared the air, Agee then settled back...

...group heads. In so doing, he unintentionally set off titillating gossip that he was involved in an executive-suite romance. President William Panny and Executive Vice President Jerome Jacobson departed. Jacobson's replacement as a vice president and chief corporate planner is Mary E. Cunningham, 29, a striking blond who joined Bendix just 15 months ago as Agee's executive assistant. A Wellesley College magna cum laude graduate and, like her boss, the holder of a Harvard M.B.A., she has emerged as the chairman's top adviser...
