GALE'S FERRY, CONN., June 17.--After a short row this evening, the order of the University crew was changed. Lawrence was put in at 7 and Ayer moved back to 5. After the change the men rowed together better, and the boat travelled much more smoothly. The crew did a half mile under favorable conditions in 2 minutes 30 seconds.
