...Charles River at 8.30 o'clock this morning, it was anounced last night. The Metropolitan Company will employ a gasoline driven ice-cutter in an attempt to break up the ice, and clear the river for the crews. The cutting will be done above the Newell Boat House which will afford the University rowers a fairly long course and will hasten the breaking up of the ice further down the river...
