...University second crew accomplished a remarkable feat at Philadelphia on Saturday when it won two races in one afternoon. The showing was especially commendable because among the crews defeated were the Yale second boat, and the first Annapolis eight which defeated the first University during spring recess. Three races took place between this and the senior event, which was the feature of the day. In this race, besides the Yale second crew, the University faced the Union Boat Club, composed of former Harvard oarsmen, the Syracuse University crew which won the race at Poughkeepsie last year, and the first Navy crew which defeated the University crew at Annapolis.
