AIRLINE competition will get still another boost from the CAB, this time on the East Coast. Delta Air Lines, now the fifth biggest U.S. passenger carrier, will get a crack at bigger markets, with 2,000 more miles of routes spreading from Atlanta and New Orleans to New York. ...Revamped Keyboard. A new rearrangement of typewriter keys, supposed to boost the average typist's speed by, 35%, will soon be tested by the U.S. Government. On the new keyboard, the most used keys are closest to the fingers' "home" position on the second row, and closest to the most agile fingers; vowels are on the second row. On a standard keyboard the left hand does 57% of the work; on the new keyboard, only 44%. Invented in 1934 by August Dvorak, now the University of Washington's research director, the new keyboard has drawn scattered cheers...

...supermarkets in Denver increased their business about 30% by plugging trading stamps. From Los Angeles to Boston, filling-station operators, dry cleaners, used-car dealers and beauty parlors have signed up for stamp plans. Well over 100,000 U.S. retailers are using some form of stamps to boost sales, and the U.S. Department of Commerce estimates that stamp savers are redeeming their books for more than $1 billion worth of premiums yearly...
