...appears that there has been a surprising increase in the number of twins occurring in Naples, Italy, during and since the War. In Bordeaux, France, there have been six twin births in each 1,000 for every year since 1913. But in Naples, the proportion, which was about three before the War, has risen steadily to 8, 9, 12, 17, 26 and 29 per 1,000 births.
