...weeks ago the Boston Sunday Herald had a long article on the facilities for escaping from fire in the College buildings. To the surprise of those who have read previous articles of the Herald on Harvard matters, the facts that were stated were correct and the deductions just. The matter has often been mentioned in the past, and the placing of fire-escapes upon Matthews and Holyoke has been the result of the attention which has been drawn to the matter. FROM the games that have been played it is difficult to form a correct judgment about the Nine, Wednesday's game with the Beacons being such an improvement on the disgraceful exhibitions at New Bedford and Boston. The weakest point seems to be the batting, only one base-hit being made in the whole game, and many of the men seeming to be surprised into striking.
