Hardwick and Wingate were especially fast on the bases, the former's tally on Waterman's scratch hit between first and second being one of the fastest bits of base-running seen on Soldiers Field for some time. Bowen pitched good ball until the eighth when three hits were registered against him, one of them a double. These hits combined with an error netted the Harvard team three runs.
