...original bad boy celebrity chef (yes, we have those), Anthony Bourdain rose to fame after writing a memoir about how the restaurant industry is a bitch and now spends his time gallivanting around foreign countries and squirming as he tastes the weirdest stuff Food Network producers can find. In his new book, he appears to be doing more of the same while looking as fashionably ratty as ever. He sits on what one can presume to be a third-world stoop, wearing dingy travel slouch pants, a dirty Oxford shirt, and sandals, dangling a cigarette from his forefingers. Never...
...some even boast the accompaniment of Midas-touch producer Timbaland and pop-castrato Justin Timberlake. If the record ever makes it to the DJ booth, there will be a few intoxicated enough to dance to these songs, at least until they realize they’re not hearing Soulja Boy. That moment, however, will be the death rattle for “Red Carpet Massacre.” In a world where music is increasingly digitally-distributed, it would be easy for Duran Duran to have simply released the eponymous track as an iTunes single and reaped the benefits...

They were interpreted to violate rules against having political messages in a polling place. The reaction has been vociferous. Fox News branded Cambridge’s decision as “unpatriotic” and “anti-American.” The decision, however, was made to protect the integrity of the election...
...commercialized elsewhere, it took hold for the first time in Jakarta in the mid-1990s - at a time when the music's belligerence seemed to perfectly echo the hostility many young people felt toward the authoritarian regime of then President Suharto. Onie recalls listening to Guns N' Roses and boy band New Kids on the Block and never feeling a real connection with the music. "Then an Indonesian friend told me that I had to listen to Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols and I loved it," he says. Punk soon proliferated as rapidly as cassette duplicates...
