...hard to judge actors and actresses when they're saddled with this script. George Hunt as the red-blazered, pink-cheeked, Shecky Greene of a circus owner is familiar with Borowitz's brand of comedy. Too familiar, it seems, because he lets himself slip into boring routines and offers the same grin too many times. Hunt has some real stage presence but his voice is weak and his character confused; you never know whether he's Natalie's seducer or mentor...

Andy Borowitz, author and lyricist of No Net, has his own brand of humor (mostly one-liners and weak puns) which may or may not appeal to you. The show can't juggle all of its problems--for example, the script--but the charming performances by female leads Andrea Eisenberg and Amy Acquino may keep you interested. George Melrod as the detective is the quintessential Columbo parody. Unfortunately these individual talents are spoiled by generally weak voices and hidden by a director and choreographer who have conspired to squeeze as much on to the tiny Agassiz theater stage as possible...

No matter that the story line, a mish-mash of all the Jack the Ripper identity theories, is so complex and capricious as to make Conan Doyle's brand of deliberate and subtle terror impossible: Clark simply adds a sountrack of weird music and loud irregular heartbeats and heavy breathing and counts on these noises to create an atmosphere of horror an anticipation...
