...Eventually I did have a good local meal in Jamestown. In fact I can highly recommend The Brass Rail, downtown, which serves local beef cooked properly and decent ribs (not "Riblets," whatever they are, which Applebee's pushes). But I will go back to Applebee's in the future. I will order only beer to drink, and I will avoid everything but the basics - hamburgers and salads. But it will taste the same every time, and it will feel like it's supposed to, a neighborhood that's nowhere and everywhere...
...primary work Hizballah does these days is not in office buildings but on the battlefield, and despite an Israeli onslaught that has targeted the group's top brass and top guns, the organization has proved more resilient than many expected. Across southern Lebanon, Hizballah fighters have manned batteries firing as many as 350 rockets a day at Israeli cities and towns, from an arsenal estimated at 13,000 projectiles. At least 100 of the more than 900 missiles fired at Israel have hit Haifa, the nation's third-largest city, while one radar-guided antiship missile...

Allen's blog is a big hit too, as she humorously details her pop-star-on-the-rise life: "All I did was sign a deal, put up a few songs on MySpace and everyone has gotten all excited...

He was born Aaron Chwatt, but some patrons at an early gig renamed him for his red hair and the brass buttons on his uniform. Buttons became a sudden star in 1952 with his CBS variety show, on which he danced goofily to a trademark lyric, "Hoho-hehe-haha. Strange things are happening!" That became a national catchphrase, but his show was soon dropped. He rebounded in 1957 with the film...
