Harvard's Hess Yntema should remain undefeated in his specialty, the 200-yd. butterfly, but either Dave Brumwell or Yntema could be pressed by Atkinson in the 200-yd. individual medley. Brumwell, however, is a sure bet in his specialty, the 200-yd. breast where a Crimson sweep appears to be a strong possibility...
...dead sister; but she finally is frightened, and runs off, not wanting to be dragged down. Only Anna, with the unexamined Christian faith which every day makes her thank her God for taking her natural daughter, cares for Agnes, her symbolic daughter; she comforts her on a mountainous bared breast, a pose which evokes both maternalism and highly charged overtones of distorted sexuality. Like Agnes, Anna has a faith which she feels will conquer all and resolve all; but as Agnes's has been neurotic, Anna's faith is simply fantastic...

Agnes is strangled by a faith which permits her no earthly satisfactions; Anna is supported by it, but Anna can exist only by serving others as a maternal breast; Maria's surface emotion hides her coldness and fear of true emotional commitment; Karin's analysis is harshly correct, but she lacks faith even in her own analysis and is therefore defeated by its truth. Each has failed to confront reality, which is composed not only of intellect, emotion...

Sophomore breastroker Dave Brumwell will have to equal his Dartmouth time of 2:14.6 in the 200-yd. breast, but he should win the event. Sprint freestyler Tim Neville is the favorite in the 50-yd. free as well...
More significant is the fact that Harvard is extremely deep--in two events, the 200 yd. individual medley and the 200 yd. breast stroke the Crimson is 1-2--and Harvard is no worse than fourth in any event. In six events two or more Harvard swimmers are listed. This may be the kind of depth necessary to beat Princeton, and perhaps, challenge for first place at the Eastern Seaboards in March...
