...latter part of September Philip Stewart, former Yale baseball captain came to Cambridge to see Professor Ames. He brought with him two letters one from Captain Thorne to Captain Brewer, and an answer from Captain Brewer to Captain Thorne. These letters from Captain Thorne deplored the unfortunate condition of the athletic relations between Harvard and Yale, and discussed the advisability of renewing the friendly relations of former years.
