Construction, truck noise, and bright lights after six o’clock have led Allston residents to complain about the Harvard Allston Science Complex. Although Harvard had previously agreed to work only from 7 AM to 6 PM, the city’s Inspectional Services Department issued a permit allowing construction until 8 PM. Harvard University has since apologized, but this issue brings attention once again to the need of the University to communicate with the residents of the area if it wants to cultivate good relations. Harvard has already talked about putting future programs into place, benefiting residents...

...Crimson had all the confidence it needed to take down another heavyweight. In its second consecutive contest against a ranked and favored opponent, Harvard used sophomore Doug Rogers’ first career hat trick to power to a 3-2 victory over No. 17 Princeton Friday night at Bright Hockey Center. After notching a goal and two assists in the Beanpot final, Rogers’s performance Friday gave him six points in two games. After its lone Ivy League bright spot this season, a league-opening victory over Dartmouth at home in early January, the Harvard men have suffered through five straight Ivy League defeats away from Cambridge. Among them was a 13-point loss at the hands of rival Yale, and a 20-point setback against a solid Brown...

Yelena S. Mironova ’10 thinks that if everyone always said what they thought, the world would be a huge New York subway station, and no one would like that. Polite half-statements are the kool-aid that keeps everyone’s tongues as bright as their spirits, and their minds blissfully unaware of their neighbor’s intentions to step on their head in the climb up the social/academic/banking ladder. Her cartoons will, hopefully, be a bit less confusing than the blurb you just read, and maybe a bit more uplifting. Judge for yourself...
