Karen Mok comes at you in sections. It's partly a result of her gallimaufry of genes: Chinese, Welsh, German, Persian, a heady hereditary cocktail. She looks and speaks Chinese, but when she palavers in English, out pours E.M. Forster starchy Brit-speak.
