Last season, off-Broadway's Public Theater presented a tribute to the hyphenated generation with a fullscale, turned-on, freaked-out, pro-love, antiwar, love-rock bein. Billed as an American tribal rock musical, Hair made up in exuberance for what it lacked in finesse.
