Shortly after 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon fire broke out on the first floor of the north entry of Thayer Hall, and before it was finally placed under control an hour later had rendered unfit for occupancy every suite in the entry, including rooms 45 to 68, and had charred the connecting hallways and stairs.
