Harry Wolfe and his brother Robert ("Old Bob") bought the venerable Journal in 1902. Died. Mary ("Typhoid Mary") Mallon. circa 70, first typhoid carrier ever identified in the U. S.; of a paralytic stroke; on North Brother Island in the East River. N. Y.
