Reporters were creating images of her too, some that Mary disputes. In his forthcoming piece in Mirabella, Jim Fielder includes an account by a court-appointed counselor of an incestuous relationship involving Mary and one of her three brothers. Mary has told friends that the counselor who wrote this evaluation wildly exaggerated the truth, which was that in an innocent childhood exploration, she had once touched a brother's penis. She has told friends she hopes to sue the counselor. Friends say Letourneau is also angry with Fielder, claiming he not only interviewed her under false pretenses (she believed...

...overcast afternoon, in a modest room in Minneapolis, 23 teenagers are in earnest conversation with one another--and with the Lord. "Would you pray for my brother so that he can raise money to go [on a preaching trip] to Mexico?" asks a young woman. The dictator's legacy is equally disturbing, says Chandler, pointing to the bloody coup staged by one-time Khmer Rouge lieutenant Hun Sen last year and the continuing political assassinations as the country prepares for elections in July that Hun Sen hopes will legitimize his regime. "In Cambodia you simply get rid of people...

Princess Diana's brother has written to the trustees of her memorial fund, asking them to wind up the charity because he believes it is degrading Diana's name, the Times of London reports. Earl Spencer "fears the fund is never going to stop, and the idea of it going on and on, making money out of the princess's name, is certainly not what she would have wanted," the Times quoted an unnamed Spencer aide as saying. The newspaper reported that Spencer has asked the nine trustees to fix a date to stop taking donations for the fund...
