...three University crews were out on the river as usual yesterday afternoon. A fair amount of improvement, as a result of the work of the past week, was apparent. The first University, in a mile brush yesterday with the crew of the Union Boat Club, was beaten by about a length and a quarter in an upstream race from the Union Boat, Club to the Harvard Bridge. ...Brush Club will hold an exhibition of original work by its members in Robinson Hall during the week beginning May 16. Three prizes will be awarded by a committee of judges to be appointed shortly before the competition. various kinds of drawings will be submitted, such as sketches, finished drawings, decorative designs, posters, and rendered architectural elevations. This is the first such exhibit to be arranged by the club; if it is successful, another will probably be given next year...

...short brush yesterday the crew of the Union Boat Club beat the first crew by about a length. The boats rowed down stream from the Harvard Bridge to the Union Boat Club. As the Union crew was fresh when it met the University crew on its way down from the boat-house, the outcome of the race cannot be set down to the discredit of the latter.
